Sleep is so important, and picking a bed for your beloved kitty is a decision you should not take lightly.
In my opinion, marshmallow beds are a pretty good choice, as they have some of the most necessary characteristics including being comfortable and warming.
These beds are just big fluffy things that are great for pampering your pet and let me tell you cats love them! I kind of like to think of them as a luxury bean bag chair. Up next our team put together a list of our top picks.
The 4 Best Marshmallow Cat Beds
The BinetGo is a really good option when you are looking for a reliable and supportive place for your cat to rest.
The bed has two options of sizing, medium, and large. The medium dimensions of this bed are 20 inches by 20 inches by 6 inches.
It can hold up to 15 pounds of weight. This weight capacity will work perfectly for almost all cats.
This sizing will fit almost all cats unless you are the owner of a bigger feline.
The large sizing can support a Maine Coon or other large cats.
There is a grippy surface on the bottom made to not slide.
What I like the most is it can be both machine washed and dried.
This is a major helper when there is an accident.
Check out the BinetGo for the comfort and coziness it can provide to your kitty.
The Bodiseint bed is another bed that has made the cut to be on our list.
It is very similar to the BinetGo, but has a few differences. This bed can support up to 25 lbs.
The bed comes in 3 different colors: pink, grey, and white.
If you decide to buy this bed, I would suggest getting either a grey or pink bed as dirt and other stains will not stand out as much in these colors.
Also, this bed had a slip-resistant bottom.
This bed is supposedly self-warming. This characteristic is super nice if you are the owner of a feline that gets cold easily. As a pet owner, you always want to ensure your pet feels secure and warm.
Again, this bed can be washed and dried in a machine.
This bed deserves to be mentioned as one of the best beds. I like this bed so much as it is eco-friendly.
Most of the other options are made of faux fur, which even though it is super comfy, it is not the best for the environment.
It comes in at 18 inches which will easily fit and be comfortable for average-sized cats. If you have a big cat, you might want to look elsewhere.
The bed we review next comes in a much larger size, so that will work great for larger breeds.
This bed is machine washable, but it is not clear if you can dry it with a machine.
The Nova makes our list because overall it is a quality bed, and also it is a less costly option. There are not many other beds that have the quality of the Nova, but are also at the same price as the Nova.
This bed is a good chunk of money less than the other options on this list.
It comes in 4 different sizes ranging from 23 inches to 45 inches. This is great if you love this bed, as you will be able to get the perfect size for your cat, and you might even be able to get one for your dog as well.
This bed has a distinct feature of a raised rim that isn’t see with its competitors.
This rim can be a good place to rest for your cat to rest their head and provide good support.
All in all, this is a wonderful option.
It might seem like there isn’t that much behind picking a bed, but you should at least put a little thought into the buying process, just so there are not any hiccups down the road.
The points I am going to talk about in this section are not mind-blowing, but they can help you make a more informed purchasing decision.
Consider The Size Of Your Cat
Do I have to talk about this? Probably not, but considering the size of your cat can be the difference in having to return a bed as soon as you buy it, and having a successful buying endeavor.
Sellers will list how long the bed is in inches in the product description. You just want to make sure the bed will fit appropriately.
Buying a bed on the larger side rather than buying one too short is recommended. This tip mostly applies to those with larger breeds like the Maine Coon.
Most of the marshmallow cat beds you find will be a good size for the standard sized cat.
What Is The Cat Bed Made From?
You do not want to buy a bed that is made of a dangerous substance, and you also want one that will be snuggly.
Most products available are made of faux fur, and this is fluffy. But, the production of this material can harm the environment. I would just like to inform you of this.
It is hard to find eco-friendly options of these beds that are priced at a low cost. The Petmate was one of the few we could find.
Some products advertise themselves as self-warming. I am skeptical about this as I think any faux fur bed will be self-warming.
Another key feature to look for is that the bed must be machine washable at a minimum. If you are lucky, you might find a bed that can be dried in a machine as well.
These features are so nice. If your cat pees on their bed, and you have a bed that you can just throw in the wash, you will be very grateful.
On the other hand, if you have a marshmallow bed that can not handle being washed in a machine, and you have to hand wash it, that is going to suck.
If you consider a few of the things I mentioned above regarding the material, you might avoid an annoyance or two.
How Does Your Cat Like To Sleep?
All cats have a specific way they like to sleep. Some prefer the classic fully stretched position, and some like to curl up into the smallest ball possible.
You want to take this into account because a cat that tends to sleep fully stretched out will need a big marshmallow bed. For a pet that curls up into a ball, any sized marshmallow bed can work.
If your cat already has a place and position that they love, why change anything? If your cat loves that spot on the couch, or somewhere else, and you are fine with them sleeping there, there is not much point in buying a bed.
An opposing point that I might add to this is you will never really know if a bed will improve the quality of their sleep. It might not look like it, but your cat might need a new and better way of sleeping.
This is where a comfy and fluffy marshmallow bed can come in and provide that.
A marshmallow bed can also do a better job of warming your cat during the night, so if your cat seems to get cold or is a hairless cat, this could be a good option.

How to make a DIY marshmallow bed?
The task of making a marshmallow bed is certainly possible, but for the average person who just wants to get a nice and comfy bed for their cat, this might not be the best option.
If you are interested in taking up a sewing project, then keep reading.
This project is not for noobies, it is pretty complex.
I am not a DIY expert, but I found a great video that goes through sewing a bed.
Here is a brief overview of the video.
First, you will want to get together the supplies to build this bed.
This includes faux material, stuffing, a sewing machine, and lots of patience.
In the video, the woman begins with two pieces of fuzzy material that are circular and close to 2 and a half feet in diameter. She sews the two circles together but then leaves a little hole where she can stuff.
She then sews a smaller circle in the middle which makes it look like a donut. She stuffs this smaller circle, and then sews it close.
She finished the project by stuffing the outer circle and sewing that portion closed.
Watch the video if you are serious about making it yourself.
Hopefully, this article was useful in providing you some insight on buying a bed for your cat.
